Every great satellite starts with a plan. In Bundle A, you’ll decide what your CubeSat’s mission is, learn the size and design rules every CubeSat must follow, and find out how it gets launched and released into space. You’ll also learn how orbits work and what your satellite has to survive once it gets there.
Ready to build it?
Bundle B shows you how to put your CubeSat together: the main body, the payload, and the budget. [Get Bundle B]

HOW TO USE THE CUBESAT PROGRAM – From the Program Creators- This program is offered to you as you need it. It may be that you are taking a look at the basics, and so Course/Lesson 2.1 - Mission Design will suffice for you and your students. You may be interested in several of the CubeSat Courses or the entire suite. The 2.2 courses are under development now. Information on how to access these courses will be explained on the CubeSat Course/Lesson purchase page.
- This program provides outlines for lessons. Teachers may select Resources appropriate for their students and present the materials according to their own styles, methodologies, and the abilities of their students. Sample Activities are given for different grade levels.
- The curriculum assumes that the teachers have looked over the resources and are familiar with their content. Where very specific information is needed, the outline will direct the teachers to that source.
- Teachers should look over the suggested ACTIVITIES before teaching the units. Many activities are based on brainstorming discussions. Thus, certain materials should be taught after the brainstorming. Here is the reasoning: When students figure out something that the students later learn is accepted practice or theory, a crystallizing experience occurs. When the students have a crystallizing experience, the perception of self changes and the students increase in self-efficacy. Thus, it is helpful to allow the students to come to realizations that (unawares to them) have already been realized, or to design inventions that (unawares to them) have already been invented. Of course, if the students invent something that has never been invented, that is even better.
- Though sources are listed for each unit, some of the information in each unit may not be found in the sources but is from my personal knowledge on the subject.
